What is Progressivism?
Most people associate the word “Progressivism” with the word “progress” – and that is why America has the problems it has today. Progress can be defined in many ways, most if not all of them positive. We can, for instance, become progressively more charitable, better educated, better off, happier, and so on over time as our lives progress in an upward trajectory – which is as it should be.
Progressivism is different. The term hijacks the word “progress” in a successful effort to deceive. Just as many Americans believe (incorrectly) that America is a democracy, we likewise harbor the notion that Progressivism must be something benign and possibly positive.
Nothing could be farther from the truth. Progressivism is a “polite” name for Marxism. Those who deliberately promote Marxism are able to work “under the radar” in their subversive and destructive labors because they call themselves “Progressives.”
How many people are willing to call themselves Marxists? Very few. The term has seriously negative connotations.
How many people are willing to call themselves Progressives? Millions, including many who should know better.
What, then, is Progressivism? It promotes itself as a viable alternative to our Constitution, to capitalism, and to the American way of life. It is a philosophy based upon the Marxist ideal of the revolution of the proletariat. Progressives don’t discuss that, however, because that revolution means – and Marx called for it – the destruction of our institutions and their replacement by a “Utopia” no Marxist or Progressive has ever defined.
In other words, Progressivism is a means to an end. It is the means by which everything we hold dear is being destroyed and replaced by things we used to abhor.
This simple table gives you an idea of the Progressive agenda:
What Progressives want to destroy | What will replace it |
---|---|
Religious belief and practice | Belief that government is the only God. |
Morality | No standards or expectations of moral conduct. “Morality is a term used to enslave us.” |
Integrity and acting in good faith | “The end justifies the means.” |
Decency | Men and women are free to seek the lowest level of humanity. |
Responsible citizenship | The individual is nothing; the collective, everything. People are subjects, not citizens. |
Freedom | Slavery and bondage |
Natural rights (given by God) | Some semblance of human rights (given by government) |
Capitalism and private property | Socialism - no private property |
Financial and personal privacy | No privacy of any type. Constant surveillance of all persons and monitoring of all their financial activities. |
Market economy | Planned economy |
Personal initiative and free expression | Complete submission to the all-powerful State |
Education in morals, ethics, languages, sciences, and the classics. | Indoctrination with little or no educational value in mandatory public schools controlled by the State. |
Truth | “There is no truth” |
The value of history | “History has nothing to teach us” |
All men and women are children of God | There is no God; humans are wards of the State. |
Limited government to protect the rights of citizens | All-powerful, massive government to control every aspect of life. |
The family | The collective |
Does this help you understand the truth about Progressivism?
This entire website, and most of my work over the past dozen years, have been devoted to learning about the problems America faces today, and what we can do as citizens to solve them. The two greatest problems America faces today are:
- The vicious, insidious, subversive onslaught of Progressivism on our families and our institutions.
- The Federal Reserve, which was established to maintain the value of the U.S. Dollar but has morphed into a powerful private corporation that creates enormous wealth for a privileged few.
Please read the articles on this website, watch the videos, and look at the links to important organizations. As you do so, please let me know whether you are willing to join the fight for the heart and soul of our great nation.
We must not expect our leaders to solve our problems. They are the ones who got us into this mess. It is up to us – “We, the People” – to awaken from our slumber and restore our freedoms. This website will help us do just that.
I look forward to hearing from you.
